Sachet Economy: Big Problems in Small Packets

The Philippines, like other Asian countries, is a heaven for companies selling products packaged in single-use plastic sachets, which leaves the country struggling with a huge amount of waste. 1.8 million tons of plastic waste is mismanaged, and with a long coastline, the possibility of plastic leakage into the ocean is high. Global plastic production has been steadily increasing and is expected to continue to grow by as much as 40% over the next decade.
